How to Merge PDF Files for Free in Your Browser

Page managementJul 2, 2026Β·3 min read

Need to combine a cover letter and rΓ©sumΓ©, or bundle several scanned receipts into one file? You can merge PDFs for free without uploading anything to a server.

How to merge PDFs

  1. Open the first PDF in the editor.
  2. Open the Pages panel from the toolbar.
  3. Click Merge PDF and choose the file you want to append. Its pages are added to the end.
  4. Drag the page thumbnails to reorder them however you like.
  5. Download the combined PDF.

Organize before you export

Merging is often just the first step. In the Pages panel you can also:

  • Reorder pages by dragging thumbnails.
  • Rotate pages that came in sideways.
  • Delete pages you don't need.
  • Extract a range into a separate file.

All of this lives in the Pages panel of the editor.

Why merge locally

Uploading documents just to combine them is slow and exposes your files to a third party. A browser tool merges them on your device, so it's instant and private β€” nothing is uploaded. That's ideal for financial or legal documents.

Finishing touches

After merging, you might want to add page numbers, a header, or a footer so the combined document reads as one cohesive file.
